Unite To Read Partnership
KDE Career and Technical Education/Kentucky Council on Economic Education
The Kentucky Council on Economic Education (KCEE) appreciates the opportunity to partner with the Career and Technical Student Organizations in the "Unite to Read" literacy program.
KCEE's mission is to champion the teaching and learning
of economics and personal finance with academic integrity, reativity, and
responsiveness. Being a partner with the "United to Read" program helps us
to share our mission with both teachers and students throughout the
Commonwealth.
This year's book selection, Lemonade for Sale by Stuart J. Murphy, is about the Elm Street Kids' Club selling lemonade to earn money to fix up their clubhouse. The Elm Street kids have a great "entrepreneurial" spirit. KCEE has many lessons and activities on entrepreneurship that can enhance the book and possibly be used for "Share a Story" night.
